On the odd occasion they maybe correct, but its more likely that they are trying to convince you not to enter the Palace compound and take their own organized tour instead.<\/p>\n<p>Within the\u00a0Palace grounds\u00a0you will find\u00a0free guided tours\u00a0in\u00a0English\u00a0available at\u00a010:00,\u00a010:30,\u00a01:30\u00a0and\u00a02:00. You can alsorent an audio guide\u00a0for 100 Baht (2.83 USD) plus a deposit to secure return.<\/p>\n<p>While the\u00a0Temple of the Emerald Buddha\u00a0and\u00a0Grand Palace grounds\u00a0are open every day (with the exception of state functions),\u00a0audience halls\u00a0in the\u00a0Grand Palace\u00a0are\u00a0closed on weekends. You must then walk through the market around the pier and out into the square surrounded by old shophouses.
