|
The MRT (Mass Rapid Transit System) reaches from the Northern train station of Bangsue to Hua Lumphong main railway station in a loop, and connects to the Skytrain at 3 different stations: Silom, Sukhumvit and Chatuchak Park. The underground uses a similar ticket system as the Skytrain (BTS), although the systems are not fully compatible, this is slowly being installed across city. The trains run from 06:00 - midnight daily, with the last trains leaving between 23:30 and 23:45. During peak hours (06.00 - 09.00 am, and 16.30 - 19.30) the trains run every 5 mins, and then every 10 minutes during the off-peak hours. MRTA has prepared the parking areas at Sam Yan Station, Sukhumvit Station, Phetchaburi Station, Thailand Cultural Centre Station, Huai Khwang Station, Ratchadaphisek Station and Kamphaeng Phet Station. There are also two park and ride buildings at the Ratchada-Lat Phrao intersection and the the Thailand Cultural Centre Station between Soi Ratchadaphisek 6 and 8.
